Hello Strangers!

Wow, it’s been a busy year! In case you missed it back in March, Deadline announced the news that our entire world of Asunda is being developed at HBO! That’s not all, our CEO and creator, Sebastian A. Jones, will serve as Executive Producer and writer for the series. Our VP of Film and TV, Mimi DiTrani, will join him as Executive Producer along with former SVP of HBO David Levine (President of TV at Anonymous Content)!

But that’s not all. While we were are at San Diego Comic-Con celebrating our 10 year SDCC anniversary, Deadline announced the next piece of incredible news! Prentice Penny, the showrunner of Insecure, is teaming up Sebastian as co-writer and Executive Producer to help develop THE UNTAMED which was revealed as the first season of the show. For folks who have been following us for a while, they will know that THE UNTAMED is Niobe’s first appearance and really where it all began for both her journey and the Stranger Comics family.

And after SDCC, we had more good news! We were featured on Deadline’s SDCC wrap article saying that THE UNTAMED was on the shortlist of properties that they believed could be the heir to Game of Thrones! And that we were the ones that could take it all the way. So, indeed – Stranger Comics is back with a vengeance! But then again, we never left 😉

So we are in the thick of it with developing the show, but of course, we’ll never forget about the comics, and that brings us to our latest news. New UNTAMED! Untamed artist Peter Bergting (Lord of the Rings) is working with Sebastian on volume 3, THE UNTAMED: Still a Fool. The whole OG team has returned including layout maestro Darrell May, cover specialist Hyoung Taek Nam (The Last of Us), and editor and letterer Joshua Cozine. And of course, the legendary artist who joined the team for covers on volume 2 will return, the one and only Jae Lee (The Dark Tower)!

THE UNTAMED: Still a Fool will hit stores next summer, but as always, Stranger’s dedicated fans will have a chance for early access via our annual Kickstarter campaign. This year, it launches on August 28th, Jack Kirby’s birthday (and, incidentally, Sebastian’s as well). Check out Bergting’s cover below and hop over to the KICKSTARTER PREVIEW PAGE HERE to see Hyoung’s as well as everything else that’s dropping.

And if you need to catch up on anything in the meantime, hop on over to the STRANGER COMICS STORE.
