NIOBE IN AFRICA!
Hello Stranger!
Happy Thursday! In case you missed the Patreon Update (You signed up yet? Link below.) Quincy and I just returned from South Africa where we had the most magical adventure. This included museum trips, safaris, and, of course, ComicCon Africa! It was beautiful, and ultimately inspiring.
DON’T GIVE UP
South Africa knows Niobe. How mind-blowing is that?! We’re an independent comic company, so we work seven days a week to keep this train moving. What I didn’t know is that one of the train stations would be where I have drawn so much of my inspiration from - Africa. Turning 50, self-doubt can creep in, no matter how confident I can feel. Am I where I want or feel I need to be… for my family and for Niobe? So here we were in Johannesburg, and people were sharing tales of how Niobe and Stranger Comics inspired them to create their own comics, animation and more!! Niobe is a seed to spark a larger flame!
A huge thank you to YOU who are reading this. Your support for us, in turn, allows us to create tales for the world to enjoy. So, in the quiet of the cold early morning, when all can feel bleak and overwhelming, please keep the faith. Let your inner light keep you warm, it will be a beacon for others. And from there the fire will spread.
COMICCON AFRICA EXCLUSIVE!
We unveiled our first every ComicCon Africa Exclusive for the preview of NIOBE: She Tribe #1! I had the joy of sharing the reveal with my co-author, South African born Thuso Mbedu (The Woman King, Underground Railroad). Thuso is also the voice of Annette in Castlevania: Nocturne! It was a beautiful coming home of sorts for Niobe. If you want this book to come home to you, they are now available on our website – www.strangercomics.com
The preview edition also contains a preview of Tales of Asunda #4 Mother’s Hands… the first appearance of Nadami (Niobe’s mother). This comic features covers by Tehani Farr. She Tribe is illustrated by Caanan White with Blond on colors. Darrell May did the layouts on both. TOA #4 is by the team of Matteo Illuminati and Arianna Pisani. For Patreon members, I have also put up some in the Patreon only store, but these editions will have a Darrell May Remark.
