WHEN DID YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH COMICS?

Hey, Stranger family. 

I was first going to title this, what got you into our “Stranger” comics, which is still a question I would love to hear about. But as I started to get ready for work, I really thought about what put me on this path of making comics. 

I saw a video recently of my son when he was around five, and the excitement we were able to share over reading comics, playing games, and watching movies in the genre that has defined a lot of my life. Someone knew, and popped Hans Zimmer’s “Man of Steel Theme,” on my youtube feed. Thanks for the assist Big Brother ;-) 

A handful of characters stood out to me when I was his age. The Hulk, Black Panther, Wolverine, and Storm. I loved Nightcrawler and the Thing too. But the Hulk was my first love. 

Being picked on as a skinny kid, in him I saw my own rage reflected. I wanted to be left alone. Also, I think the relationships Banner had with Betty and other family members created the sometimes painful intimacy we can all relate to. I will always come back to the Hulk as my go-to-guy. (Especially as I met him - see pic below)! He was my first memory of comics, so I guess you have him in-part to thank for why you are reading this lol. How about you?
