Most of you know a lot of the world of Asunda was born from table-top roleplaying… and LARPING! Countless hours of MERP, Rolemaster, D&D, Pathfinder, Warhammer; and weekends wielding foam weapons in Chislehurst Caves in England. When I got to the U.S, scaring LARPers (and the occasional Park Ranger) took place in Topanga Canyon, Malibu Creek State Park, and a brief stint in Ojai – all after midnight. Scary good times!
These were the best of times, and created a foundation for stories, but mostly myth and lore in our fantasy world. So, we have decided to lean into this community – finally! And bridge our comic world in a gaming landscape.
This Summer we are going to put out our first Module under our banner!
To answer your questions:
Will you still publish comics? YES – We will still put out amazing comics and Hardcovers! (And hopefully film/TV!)
Will they be connected to the comics? YES – In fact, we will have actual comic stories inside each module to enhance the overall experience. There will be collector editions!
What platform will you use? Several! We will be doing D&D 5th edition versions, as well as teaming up with our friends at TrollLord Games, and hopefully more with Pathfinder as well.
What stories are you using? We have several in the works but many more to come that will connect with various other books. These include:
MORKA MOA - TrollLord Games is doing The Mines of Lothsca, set around the events of Morka Moa! This is on the Kickstarter campaign that just finished. ESSESSA - Our vampire queen. Art is painted by our amazing cover artist Richard Thornsberry! You'll get a peak inside Essessa's tomb. THE UNTAMED - We visit the Town of Oasis prior to the events of The Untamed. ERATHUNE - The book that started as a campaign will return to the table top.
NIOBE PATHFINDER MODULE - As you may be aware, we already have an amazing Niobe Pathfinder 1e module, officially made by Paizo, which is great to have for gamers, but also for folks that want to know our lore!
NIOBE MINI – Mythic Games have crafted a charming model miniature of Niobe.
LARP SWORDS – Our friends at Calimacil have crafted the most beautiful LARP swords for Niobe’s Soul of Ice sword and Essessa’s 2-handed vampiric blade!
We will also be fleshing out our card game so that you can play with the collectible cards from your Kickstarter packages! And there may be a second card game coming down the pike.
