Yes, that’s right, another day earlier than usual! That is because we wanted to remind you today is the last day to PreOrder TALES OF ASUNDA V2 #1: NIOBE She Tribe and DEFIANT #1 at your local comic shop as the shops have to put their orders for November books in tomorrow!
And with all the talk of a BLADE movie remake and Sinners, here is a spotlight on our BLADE 2 HOMAGE for Tales of Asunda V2 #1: NIOBE She Tribe! We partnered with Massive Select on this variant and you can see it in the Diamond Previews Catalog under Massive's section!
WHY NOW! As you know, I have been saying for weeks that Preordering is the most important time for independent comics. If no one preorders from a store, we likely won’t be in that store when we release November 6th! But more than that, it gives you guys a chance to really talk to your local faves and tell them about Niobe and the world of Asunda, about what she means to you how you’re excited for all her adventures. And you can also tell them about our new series DEFIANT, so that they know how important the life and story of Robert Smalls is – and how we are making a movie with Legion M! Rob Edwards (writer of Princess & the Frog) is writing the comic and the film script!
On top of that, these are just some dope comics to get! Of all the Niobe titles I have written, I feel this issue (I wrote with Thuso Mbedu) starts to capture the struggle of her hero’s journey the most. And Caanan’s art with Blond’s colors is spectacular. As far as Defiant, this is a legacy comic which will be in schools as part of the curriculum, where it will educate a new generation about a true American Hero. Look up Robert Smalls and you will see what I’m talking about!

You will note that in issue #2 of Tales of Asunda, we follow the story of one knight trying to stop the legacy of Niobe when she runs into Mashae, one of Niobe’s disciples (who appeared in both Niobe She is Life and Death).
